Nhii / Closer feat. Shrii (FCR023)

Having already appeared on Flying Circus Recordings with a killer collaboration with Maga back in 2019, DJ & producer Nhii goes on a solo venture with his new single ‘Closer’ featuring Shrii. Remixes are provided by Yulia Niko and Rony Seikaly, and the package is sealed off with another sweet production from the Munich/NY based artist. In its original mix, ‘Closer’ is a pulsing and peppy slice of mystical and engrossing dance music, lightly dipped in reverb, and featuring a infectious vocal performance from Shrii, all delivered with the sophistication and elegance one would expect for a Flying Circus release.

MAGA The Clock Is Ticking (FCR022)

Maga returns to the Flying Circus fold after a collaborative release with Nhii back in 2019. On his new single, ‘The Clock Is Ticking’, the French DJ and Producer gets to fly solo with two deep and ethereal tracks for the mind, body & soul.
Having made a big splash already on the music scene via a slew of sophisticated releases for the likes of Get Physical Music, True Colors, Kindisch and The Gardens Of Bablylon, Maga delivers more refreshing sounds.

A prowling bassline anchors the alluring ‘The Clock Is Ticking’, as a wistful vocal dominates, shuffling percussion and as assured pace and mood is perfectly set by Maga here. On ‘Traverse’, a chugging house breakbeat sets the tone for a cosmically charged and transcendental workout, with dramatic synth stabs and gentle keys bringing this delicate flower to life.

Maga & Nhii - Monogram EP (FCR020)

A collaboration of like-minded artists and remixers make for a brimming EP of transcendental house music on Maga & Nhii’s debut for Flying Circus Recordings. The two upcoming producers, who have between them released music on Stil Vor Talent, The Gardens Of Babylon, Rebellion der Traumer and Kindisch, pair up across two tracks, and remix duties are ably handled by Tim Engelhart and Wild Dark.

‘Monogram’ is a breezy and seductively dynamic track, buoyed with huge waves of synths and cinematic sweeps, with a rolling rhythm that is simply irresistible. Wild Dark follow up their recent release for Supernature with a more percussive and tribal re-working of ‘Monogram’ whilst still retaining the epic feel already constructed in its original form.

Accompanying track, ‘Sirens Of Space’ gets cosmically charged for an epic eleven-minute trip, resplendent with shimmering keys and galactic drones, all underpinned with a steady and progressive groove. The ever-prolific Tim Engelhardt (Poker Flat/Watergate) deploys a fantastic remix that reduces the elements to a more direct and terse translation.

Sean Doron Illuminati EP FCR019

Israeli producer, Sean Doron, has been responsible for a string of enigmatic releases for labels such as Rebellion, Inmotion Music, Bla Bla and Beat Botique. On the ‘Illuminati’ EP, the talented young producer functions a trio of celestial dance cuts for Audiofly’s Flying Circus label. Reverberating vocals, spiraling strings and meandering percussion shape the lead track, ‘Ritual Gathering’, whilst radiant claps and vivacious woodwind instruments drift over the unhurried rhythms and ethereal tones of ‘Pleasure & Pain’. Title track, ‘Illuminati’, raises the energy levels somewhat, with a brooding and pulsating groover, resplendent with dense synths and shimmering percussion.

Doctor Dru - Wahah (FCR018)

Doctor Dru, the multi-talented DJ/producer and record label boss, continues his creative streak with a two track single for Flying Circus Recordings. With an impressive body of work already behind him, that includes releases on Exploited, The Gardens Of Babylon, his very own JEUDI Records, and a forthcoming release on Solomun’s Diynamic label, the good Doctor arrives on Audiofly’s imprint with two sublime tracks.

‘Wahah’, meaning ‘desert spring’ in Arabic, packs in a serious amount of good feeling and warm vibes. A brooding and sophisticated production, Doctor Dru teases infectious music refrains from warm synthesizers to great effect on this headsy dance track.

More dusty and transcendental sounds can be found on ‘Soharab’, a term used to describe the blurred vision one gets from the heat of the desert. Seductive melodies and breezy keys are deployed over the track’s eight-minute tenure, with a tension-building breakdown unfurls into a glorious, rhythmic production, colourful with rich melodies and hooky motifs.

The title track, ‘Solara’ packs a punch, with a heady mix of frenetic percussion, spiritual vocals and dramatic piano chords, whilst ‘Zambee’ sustains the drama with another bold, synth driven, club cut.

Serge Devant - It’s Like That (incl. Sebastien Leger Remix) (FCR016)

Picture
New York based DJ & producer, Serge Devant, delivers an opulent slice of breezy terrace vibes for Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings. ‘It’s Like That’ comes backed with a stellar remix from Sebastien Leger.

Devant has been a consistent player in the field for many years, most recently serving up highly acclaimed
releases for labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Knee Deep In Sound and Circus Recordings, as well as remixes for Damian Lazarus, Jonas Rathsman and Fabio Aurea.

Dreamy melodies and plucked synths are pinned down with propulsive, techy beats on Devant’s Original Mix, the whispered vocal refrain and foreboding bass-line adding an air of mystique and anticipation in its ambience. Sebastien Leger, the iconic French producer, follows up releases on Lost & Found, and All Day I Dream, with an exotic remix of ‘It’s Like That’. Complex harmonies and lingering woodwind instruments drift over a solid rhythm as the Bedouin vibes are ramped up for a cosmically charged classic in the making!

“It’s Like That” by Serge Devant is released on Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings June 14th!

Chaim - Drums Marrakech (FCR015)

Picture
Seasoned DJ & producer, Chaim, etches his divine and refined sounds across two new tracks for Audiofly’s Flying Circus label. The ‘Drums Marrakech’ single comes backed with a remix from Sabo.

With a recording CV that spans labels such as BPitch, Visionquest, Rumors, and most recently, Moscoman’s Disco Halal imprint, and the emergence of his own label, Blue Shadow, Chaim has been responsible for an abundance of mesmerising electronic dance cuts over the years, and he simply shines bright once again over the two original tracks here. ‘Drums Marrakech’, unsurprisingly, focuses on hypnotic and tribal rhythms; a passionate vocal delivery takes center stage however, as the glossy drum sounds take a firm grip and combine for a powerful and heady dance track.
Middle Eastern flavours are at play in ‘Gwana’, with its opening guitar plucks and reed pipes, evolving into an incredibly groovy and dubby production. Charming tom drum rolls and a perky bassline give the track a pop sensibility whilst Chaim deploys clever FX that create an almost melting sensation, transcendental house music at its best!

Sol Selectas main man, Sabo, delivers a remix of ‘Gwana’, keeping faithful to the original mix but with some added dramatic piano refrains across its breakdown. Cool and breezy sounds, perfectly executed on this remix.

FCR014 Austin/Scott - Altered States Feat. Mooji

Picture
Austen/Scott debut on Flying Circus Recordings with the “Altered States feat. Mooji” EP. The sibling DJ/producers have been busy of late, with releases for Len Faki’s LF Remix series, their own Danse Club record label, remixing for Marcus Henriksson, as well as a forthcoming EP for Joris Voorn’s Rejected label. The Italian DJ/producer, Francesca Lombardo, tees up two remixes for this release also.

“Let’s Begin” is a brooding and measured production; a sparse percussive workout provides the necessary sound-bed for the words of wisdom that flow from the consciousness of the Jamaican born, London based spiritualist, Mooji. Dubby FX, distant keys and plucked strings gently breeze over the slight drum pattern, creating a most meditative effect across the course of this fifteen-minute epic.

The mood switches up on “Nothing Can Erase You”, with a more energetic pace and character. Rubbery synths stab and glide over a dark drum/bass combo for a simple yet effective club cut. Francesca Lombardo (Crosstown Rebels/Mobilee) follows up recent remixes for Rebirth and Echoe with two remix versions here. Lombardo injects some decidedly more synth-orientated vibes into her first remix; with an 80’s gloss to the sound, the arped synths and funky drums are highly infectious, whilst on her “Pop Remix”, things go abstract for an altogether more shadowy and experimental take on the original.

“Altered States feat Mooji” by Austen/Scott is released on Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings imprint from 30th November 2018.

FCR013 Cross Borders Vol. 1

Picture
The first volume of music on “Cross Borders” spans across the house spectrum, all united in the quality production, sophisticated sound sculptures and the great grooves packed into each of the tracks, music for late nights and early rises from the Flying Circus camp.

“Cross Borders Vol. 1” by Various Artists is released on Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings.

FCR012 Tumujin - Why Not?

Picture
The breezy and percussive sounds of Timujin arrive on Flying Circus Recordings, just in time for the hot balmy nights of summer. The London based producer has already impressed on a handful of releases and remixes already, and the “Why Not?” EP sees the young artist continue to explore melodies and global, spiritual atmospheres with his music.

Live drum sounds and tropical ambience are at the core of “Katana” whilst brooding, low-end synths weave around the rhythmic patterns. On “Why Not?” we are treated to an alluring blend of mallet instrumentation, shuffling shakers and elevating chants, and the accompanying Francesco Mami Remix toughens up the sound a few notches, with a blistering and twisted tech-chugger of a remix!

“Why Not?” EP by Timujin is released on Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings imprint from 17th August 2018.

FCR011 Megablast & Andreas Weiz - El Vagabundo Ft. Pablo J

Picture
Megablast and Andreas Weisz team up with Pablo J for the sophisticated percussive house sounds of “El Vagabundo”, bolstered here with a remix from Acid Pauli.

With previous releases on labels such as Luv Lite, G-Stone (Kruder & Dorfmeister’s label), Sol Selectas and MoBlack Records, Megablast makes it a family affair (Megablast AKA Sascha Weisz, teams up with his brother Andreas, here), and the summer soaked and exotic house vibes are found in abundance on the original mix of “El Vagabundo”. Live guitar comes courtesy of Pablo J, and percussive duties are handled by Christian Einheller, ensuring a warm and rich sounding production throughout.

Acid Pauli, with his production CV encompassing releases and remixes for Pampa Records, Rebirth, Crosstown Rebels and Pets Recordings, amongst many others, steps up on the remix of “El Vagabundo”. Offering up a decidedly more serene take on the original, the German DJ/producer adds a new vocal line from Tucge Kurtis, and layers deep chord stabs and shimmering keys that float over a shuffling groove.

FCR010 Hannes Bieger - La Selva

Picture
As one of Europe’s most in-demand mastering and mixing engineers, Hannes Bieger has built an untouchable reputation, with an exhaustive client list that includes some of the biggest names in contemporary house and techno. Over the course of 11 years he has been consistently in-demand, providing his expertise and intuition to friends and associates from Âme to Ellen Allien, Steve Bug and everyone in
between.

With a studio arsenal that features racks upon racks of modular synthesis and analogue instruments, it’s a wonder why Bieger’s own production schedule has been largely contained to sparodic releases and remixes for labels like Poker Flat, Aeon and Bine Music, but this makes it all the more special that his ‘La Selva’ EP drops on Flying Circus Recordings, the label run by Audiofly’s Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton.

Bieger’s credentials as a mix engineer can be heard loud and clear in these two exquisite productions. ‘La Selva’, with it’s bubbling synths (inspired by the sounds of the Colombian jungle) and dramatic sweeps comes correct with a sturdy kick drum and arpeggiated bassline and lead melody using Moog synthesis.

With a breezy arrangement and epic sound aesthetic, ‘La Selza’ could well be one of the uniting dancefloor moments of the year. On ‘Caldera’, we get more of Bieger’s lush modular sound, with a cut that’s more techno orientated; the pacey rhythm and shakers propel the dark ambience forward as tense rising pads and frosty keys build to a climatic crescendo, powerful stuff from Hannes!
